10 Blogging Best Practices

As a PR myself and at the same time part of the media (online and print), I worked at Philippine Information Agency as Regional Media Coordinator (It is part of the Communication arm of the President of the Philippines), I came across with these practices from different media practitioners. Whether you like it or not, these are the things that is really happening and some of these practices are not only for bloggers but to those who are seeking to get them as media partner..the companies represented by Public Relation Officers. Let's give the credit where the credit is due. Check out my 10 Blogging Best Practices.

Companies I represent are expecting for an output. As a PR, I need to deliver what is due and as a Blogger, I need to write a good content.

1. Don't advertise two same products of competing companies at the same time (week, month) if you are still committed with the other. -- It's common sense, how can you promote or campaign two competing products? It's like how can you work with two competing companies. We must know that, it's not about the quantity of post or products we are promoting, it's the quality and our good relationship with these companies we are protecting. e.g. Promoting two Pizza Companies is like promoting two boxers inside the ring.

Don't advertise two same products of competing companies at the same time.

2. Choose only invites where you are interested so that you will write about it, PR are expecting an output for media mileage. -- We can't enjoy all events and we definitely can't write all especially if there's 5 invites within a day. PR chose us with only one thing in mind, media mileage. They are expecting an output as soon as possible after the event, it's a task too required for them by their companies. It's definitely work and an automatic expected output. We truly are excited to write about the events or products we like so to prevent a bad reputation like for bloggers who just attend events but doesn't write about it, just go to events you definitely like to write about.

You can attend all events and go around the world but I suggested to go to events you are passionate to write about.

3. Focus on the niche to have a brand--you can attend all events but make sure, you have the right blogs where to write them. e.g. Writing a food article to your gadget blog where you have specific readers.

Lloyd Luna is known as the Inspirational Blogger, me for EmpoweredGrace, Tony Ahn as PR, Rod Magaru as Lifestyle Blogger and The VoiceMaster Pocholo De Leon Gonzales

4. Have Integrity, start with a real profile picture and always RSVP, don't gate crash, PRs are counting how many are coming because of the availability of venue, food to prepare and compensation. If you did RSVP, please be on time and be there. Most of the time, Presscon or events are invitational, If you commit to attend, please be there or cancelled the invite two days in advance so that the slot will be given to other blogger.

Your profile picture is your ID and could be your brand

5. Be unique, avoid a content copycat. -- You went to the event or you checked the products, so share your observation, whether it's good or bad, anyway, it's a review. Press Releases can just give us the comprehensive information or details but it's still best to have your own review based on your experienced.

6. Don't be a hog--It's still customarily for PR to give a token but don't ask for more unless there's an open negotiation. The Blogging community still doesn't have a strong standards for compensation. Though Compensation must be given especially if the company will use the bloggers as their marketing partners. Bloggers on the other hand are Online Journalist not affiliated mostly with companies unlike reporters or writers from leading networks. For bloggers same as salaried reporters/writers,  there's effort, there's transportation cost, there's allotted time to write about the event/product/services and there's definitely expenses. A nice compensation as marketing partner must be given to these bloggers and as bloggers, they must do their part.

Companies have a budget for marketing, let's just give what is due. For Bloggers, write a good content.

7. Do your part--Maximize your Social Networks; Tweet, Post at FB, IG the event you attended. Public Relations Officers are usually part of the companies Marketing team. If the blogger commit to attend or participate, as much as possible, being a Social Media practitioner must disseminate information to all networking sites.

Talk about it on Twitter, mention at Facebook, make it viral at Youtube or share photos at Instagram.

8. Don't talk badly against the PR, everyone's unique, do your thing, it's business to the companies, be professional. If you did, don't expect you are still in their mailing list. Also, the netizens know each other, bad mounting for sure will reach the destination and it will ruin your reputation.

At Gardenia Bread Philippines Inc with the Public Relations Managers. The company sponsored most of my events and meetings. It's about relationships.

9. Honesty--your online self must be your offline self. What you're doing or talking outside the computer world must be what you're writing or texting too. Definitely, especially if you are projecting to be somebody you are not online, overtime or for sure, because of word of mouth and because online is the extension of our offline life, it will be reveal. It's easy to be honest than to lie. Be yourself.
                                                                                           Meeting offline with online friends

10. Give the credit where credit is due.-- cite sources. For legal purposes and as a good netizen. Write down where you copy a nice article and acknowledge the writer for the good work. If its a Press Release, cite the source.

The future is Digital Marketing whether we like it or not, it's the technology that drives us to this fast paced age. In just a minute the product could be up or down depending on the strategy or content not really about the demand because the demand usually is the cause of the marketing. The Blogging Community must continue to work hand in hand in a common ground, give and take with ethics as the foundation or just a plain....common sense.

RH Law, Violence and Dating Younger Women

RH Law is now again the center of my timeline plus my gossipy instinct to listen from the news about our local movie actress Sunshine Cruz ordeal against her actor husband Cesar Montano with the young girl starlet Krista Miller and that yellow lady with her cleavage to show at a very descent gathering, her name is not familiar but as Senator Koko Pimentels wife, I am interested.

Both ladies are talking bout RA 9262 or better known as the Anti Violence Against Women and Children (AVAWC).

Senator koko Pimentel and Jewel May Lobaton

The Twitterverse reaction yesterday was consistent, or might be because my followers and those I followed are more on RH Law supporters and Human Rights Advocates. Though with my more than 4900 plus "friends" at Facebook, both anti and pro have their conflicting statuses. Once again a lot of self proclaimed experts to the law and rights, that's us, Filipinos are good in communication, that's why Philippines is the  Social Networking Capital in the world, we like to comment, argue, debate or maybe Social Revolutionists which is the theme of this year for the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit that will happen on October 15 and 16, 2013 at Laguna. Very appropriate for the Generation Y.

Harassment from husbands is not new to everyone. It happened with different reasons but we, the wifey, filed cases only if we thought its against our will. How can a husband can raped the wife if there's love sparkling between the two of you? If the kids or children sleep-over for days at their Daddy's place and the wife is thinking differently, or just like to file a case of kidnapping, she can do that but whatever will be their "real" reason, they are the only ones who knew that or possible just getting a reason to approve the annulment case. I have so many friends who filed cases and even it's not real, their lawyers told them to spill the "right" reasons to have the annulment approved by the judge.

Cesar Montano, Sunshine Cruz and Krista Miller

A lot of wife's have their own ordeal, our own ordeal. There's no perfect marriage, and as time goes by, different issues comes along. Age is one thing. Mrs. Montano's complaint also is the inappropriate relationship of Cesar to a younger starlet. Men as we know, most of them, are young at heart and loves younger women. I am sure some will disagree but from my circles, realistically, most loves and feels younger to be surrounded with younger people. In the life of a married couple, not to discriminate, Men tends to look for something new or someone.

There are reasons for these and according to my sources. Here's what they found.
1. Younger women are often attracted to the security that older men can provide them.
2. A wide generation gap means that the two of you will have different habits and different tastes.
3. Not all May-December relationships are disasters waiting to happen, but most of them are.

A lot of stable men or blatantly I would say, Rich and "gorgeous" men have a younger partner today. I am even myself is attracted to established, famous, wealthy and popular men, who are like in their 50s..60s. Sounds like one of the many advantages of being wealthy and powerful, right? Sure, but with the perks of a younger girlfriend come some very strange backlashes.

Check out; Paul McCartney, Donald Trump, Woody Allen, Seal, Prince Charles, Billy Joel or Bill Clinton.

US President Bill Clinton and his Intern Monica Lewinsky

But is disaster precisely what happens when men date women who are much younger than they are? Do they lose their minds trying to keep up with a girl from a generation they clearly don't relate to?

Dating a girl 10 or 20 (or 60) years your junior is a recipe for trouble.  Because she’s not a fresh start
One of the mistakes older guys often make is assuming that older women have emotional hang-ups and younger women don’t. Such men are enticed by the seeming innocence and purity of the younger woman. They think that because she’s never had her heart broken she won’t have intimacy issues. They think that because she’s years away from turning 40 she won’t constantly remind him about her biological clock. These men are wrong.

Every woman has baggage. Further, younger women are likely to have issues that older women have outgrown. For example, because of their comparative inexperience when it comes to relationships, younger women are more likely to be needy and insecure.

Because She’s In It For The Wrong Reasons more like a security reason..
Before you start entertaining the idea of dating  younger women, ask yourself this: How come when you were 27 you couldn’t get a girl like the blonde bombshell who now seems so interested in you?

How is it that now, 10 or 20 years later, when you’re older and probably or definitely worse looking, that you can score the hottest woman you’ve ever dated? What’s different about you?

Here’s a hint: When you were young, you were poor. Now you’re not. Yes, it’s a bit crude, but there’s some truth to it.
Younger women are often attracted to the security that older men can provide them. Maybe at first you won’t mind exchanging money for sex, but if you develop feelings for the girl you’ll become less and less comfortable with her insincerity and her materialism.

Donuld and Melania Trump

Because You Can’t See Eye To Eye

Another reason why relationships with younger women end badly is because of the generation gap. To put it simply, Men are still burning with sex desires more than women, oh well base on my teeny weeny circles, and men are not really into long term relationship in looking for a nice, pretty body of younger women. A wide generation gap means that the two of you will necessarily have different habits and different tastes. It’s hard to build a relationship when you have so little in common.

Because Your Relationship Is Based On A Transient State Of Mind

One of the most attractive things about younger women is that they live a life largely free of responsibility. Single women in their 20s, for example, often don’t have kids or mortgages. They can still afford to get sloshed on a Wednesday night and they can have sex with whomever they want, whenever they want.

Older men often date younger women in an attempt to recapture this lost state of youthful adventure, but it rarely, if ever, works. While it might be fun to relive your youth for a few weeks, you’ll eventually tire of the club hopping, all-night binge drinking and the other things men over 30 shouldn't be doing. And when you’re lust for adventure fades, so will the relationship.

Because Your Relationship Is The Honeymoon

One of the other reasons why relationships with younger women end badly is because the entire relationship resembles a honeymoon. Initially, you might think that sounds great -- a whole relationship based on sex and romance -- but honeymoons always end. Not only is the intensity of emotion and physical attraction ultimately unsustainable, it's also a pretty shallow basis for a relationship and men is not into relationship if they are looking not thinking.

Because She’s Your Last, But You’re Her First

You have lots of relationship experience under your belt. You know what you’re looking for in a partner. You know how to weather the storms. You know when to stand your ground and when to compromise. She, however, does not. You are essentially her guinea pig, as she experiments in the field of sex and relationships. Sometimes those experiments will be fun.

The Fountain Of Youth
Not all May-December relationships are disasters waiting to happen, but most of them are.

While we’ve outlined the reasons why dating younger women isn’t always the best thing to do, it’s ultimately your choice to make. In the end, if you’re thinking about dating a younger woman, make sure it’s a decision you’re making with your heart and your brain -- not with your pecker.

Plus, gorgeous wealthy men are already taken and just like to get younger women mostly for the lust. A lot out there will surely...agree.

For married women in their 30s, my personal advice to take or not;
1. Diet and eat healthy
2. Exercise
3. Have an advocacy
4. Average weight must be 100 pounds or less
5. Stay beautiful

'And if you found out your husband is dating a younger woman, kick him out of the house immediately, you deserve more commitment and yes, file a case.'

PAMANA: A legacy? ( A musical on Ninoy and Cory )

Whatever will be the objective of this show, whether to bring up again what happened to the former Senator of the Republic, Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino who was killed on the tarmac, wearing white, only to be drenched in blood. After his death, a bloodless revolution followed suit - the bright sea of yellow became the conclusion of the Marcos regime and the rise of the wife and became the first woman president of the Philippines.

THE FILIPINO PEOPLE IS WORTH DYING FOR? United as one. An event that will not happen again. Everyone gathered to witness the lady who gave us freedom and democracy?. Mahirap o Mayaman, Mangmang o Propesyonal. Nagsamasama. What heppened next?

My Dad, a nationalist and always telling to us to love thy neighbor and to respect the country we live in, always telling us stories about this then Senator who was willing to die for the sake of his country. I remember, I was in Grade 6 then, when Ninoy died and the little Kris was campaigning together with his brother now the most powerful man in the Philippines. There are so many stories, conflicting stories but whatever happened, the end is, what happened after that.

As the country commemorates the 30th anniversary of Ninoy's death, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF), Indie.Go Media and the Philippine Educational Theater Association Inc. (PETA) team up to stage "PAMANA," the country's first docu-musical yet.

As writer Rody Vera said. "It does not only pay tribute to Ninoy and Cory themselves, for while their lives are exemplary, admirable and inspiring as they are, their greatness can only be complete and total if the power of their legacy touches the lives of millions of their countrymen."

After 2009, what happened? This is me taking pictures, checking events if there's a difference.

Instead of having actors portray Ninoy and Cory in a play, "PAMANA" recreates the presence of Ninoy and Cory through documentary footage, images and sound bytes projected on oversized screens.

"PAMANA" thus looks back at the last 30 years through three pivotal characters whose individual experiences shaped their own interpretation of the story.

The story of Ninoy and Cory is narrated by an old unassuming street sweeper, Lola Azon (Malou de Guzman), who witnessed first-hand Ninoy's funeral and the unfolding of protests that would become the historic People Power Revolution.

The time of the revolution allows Lola Azon to witness the Filipino people's struggle for freedom which becomes instrumental to her own change of heart.

Her own son Edgar (Jett Pangan) experiences disillusionment which drives him to seek a better life in another country. He leaves his daughter Trina in the care of Lola Azon and the latter grows up knowing him only in virtual space.

My sister Odessa with me at Sucat. Just like to be part of History. Now, what's next?

Trina (Kakki Teodoro) is a typical teenager. One fateful day she is asked by her Lola to go to the wake of Corazon Aquino to deliver a letter. She is overwhelmed by what she sees -- overflowing love and respect shown by the people for the former President. She begins to ask questions and those questions prod her to a journey of discovering her love for her country, the desire for change and the passion to be the instrument of that change.

Also joining Pangan, Teodoro and de Guzman is a powerhouse ensemble of professional theater actors together with the members of Viva Voce.

"PAMANA" will be staged at the Meralco Theater on August 21 (7pm), August 22 (8pm) and on August 24-25 (3pm and 8pm).

Here are the ticket prices per area:
Balcony side and center - php 350
Loge side and center - php 800
Orchestra side level 1 and 2 - php 1200
Orchestra center - php 2500

My husband always have Gardenia Bread for breakfast. he likes it because it's always new sa market. He made a point that my children have their breakfast too because for him it's the best meal of the day. “Breakfast, which is usually neglected nowadays because of the fast-paced lifestyle, is the foundation of healthy eating habits”, explained CSR Coordinator Quennie Comple. Moreover, the Corporate Relations Manager, Ms. Mary Ann Cabrera, also explained that NAP is Gardenia’s initiative to live up with this year’s nutrition month theme Gutom at malnutrisyon, sama-sama nating wakasan! “We believe that through this program, children can think more efficiently, and be more participative. A well-balanced breakfast can also help the students bring the energy needed to cover for the day.  In addition, through the NAP, we can somehow help to alleviate malnutrition as this initiative will be succeeded by a three-month feeding to monitor and evaluate nutritional status of severely-wasted children,” Ms. Cabrera said.

Overall, we are thankful as always with gardenia Bread Philippines Incorporated. They truly believed that Bloggers and Social Media practitioners could spread the information effectively and fast. I am thankful that it's manufacturing company is also located at Laguna. The company helps a lot of people at Laguna and helping them to put breakfast on their table. Basta gardenia, panalo at masarap kahit walang palaman.

The Power of Alternative Medicine and Natural Healing

When my Dad, Mr. Josefino Velasco Bondad told me that he will attend a seminar about "Fundamentals Of Natural Healing...How Food Supplement can Heal Faster than Synthetic Drugs" with Dr. Jaime E.Dy-Liaco as speaker, I became curious, for me it's like, why not? Not all deceases was cured by the conventional synthetic medicines even those multi millionaire dies even with all those modern technology medical tools and expensive medicines and wondering too why the Natural Healing method became the "Alternative Medicine" when it's the one existing first before the synthetic medicine?. Curious I am and since I wanted to be with my Dad to this paid event (I usually attended events for free as part of the media and this time my mind was really resisting to pay Php 1200), I joined him at Club Filipino.

My Dad and I am happy I accompanied him

Dr. Jimmy Dy-Liacco, holds a degree in metabolic medicine from Dr. William Donald Kelley's College of Metabolic Medicine in Kansas City, USA. He has been a trustee of the Philippine College for the Advancement of Medicine (PCAM) since 2002. In 2005, he was Acting Director General of the DOH's Philippine Institute for Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC). He is an expert on the power of natural healing and cured himself of prostate cancer in six months without surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Credentials that made him a credible source and not to mention his job as the first Filipino Country manager under Proctor and Gamble abroad. As I checked also the audience, more than 100 attendees and all paid and focus to be there to listen and maybe somehow their last resort to their incurable diseases?

Dr. Jaime Dy Liaco and me

He is 82 years old and I would say, doesn't look like 82. No Powerpoint presentation and no handouts just himself in front of us. That time, telling to myself, Lagot! a boring seminar speaker with a boring topic. But since I told myself to focus because of what I paid and my effort to be there, I listened carefully. The event will start at 9 am and will finish at 5 pm and I conditioned myself to focus and actually looking forward for a sumptuous miryenda and lunch. Dr. Dy liaco started talking about faith, as usual, same as every other speakers I know, they will start it about God and their beliefs.

The self proclaimed number 1 "Quack" without any presentation but still can engaged the audience.

According to Dr. Dy-Liaco, the two fundamentals of natural healing are:

All healing comes from the Holy Spirit and Restore the body to the way God made it. Before big corporations turned the medical industry into a synthetic drug-based business enterprise, medical school taught natural healing. make sense right. Humans were using Natural Healing and Natural medicines before and we survived.
Natural healing has become popular in the modern world because of the fact that it heals faster, better, and cheaper than synthetic pharmaceutical drugs, without the side effects that all drugs have.

In 1997, the Philippines was blessed with the passage into law of the Traditional & Alternative Medicine Act of 1997, which established natural healing as a legal system of medicine side by side with pharmaceutical drug-based medicine. For the Philippines, this is of paramount importance because 70 percent of our people do not get adequate health care.

Times are changing as the world rediscovers the power of natural healing. In the United States, 125 medical schools, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, and Johns Hopkins, now include alternative courses in their curriculum. In the Philippines, UE's Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center started a two-year Masteral degree program in alternative medicine.

Dr. Dy-Liaco's basic premise is to keep your body hydrated at all times. We should maintain 75% water level in our body in order for us to have a strong immune system, which will protect us from coughs, colds, headaches, fever, asthma and allergies. In order to retain the water, it should be taken with rock salt. Eating 6 raw eggs daily is good for the heart, gums and gives you energy.

A healthy cooked Lunch

The healthy raw miryenda: Siling Labuyo, Rock Salt and Raw Egg

Here are some of Dr. Dy-Liaco's natural cures for common ailments:

1. Hypertension - three glasses of tap water or mineral water, half a teaspoon of rock salt, one saba banana, and siling labuyo
2. Stomach Gas – ginger root; or three glasses of mineral water and half a teaspoon of rock salt; or dark chocolate ice cream
3. Diarrhea/food poisoning – 8 cloves of crushed, raw garlic
4. Constipation – 6 siling labuyo
5. Anemic – 3 teaspoons of raw beef liver
6. Dengue – papaya juice from papaya leaves
7. Cancer- raw pork pancreas and raw beef liver

Dr. Dyliaco shared a lot of his experiences and 100% of those who asked him with the use of Natural Healing and Alternative Medicines were cured. I am impressed but still have doubts if those stories are true. How will I know but if it's all true, wow! Why not try right. Lunch time, I am not looking forward for any Sofitel like food anymore but a raw pork liver or more likes it, well, for 3 hours he talks about raw so not looking forward for cooked meal this time and I am hungry. I thank God when the plated meal is composed of Cooked plain rice, Fried Cream Dory and Chopsuey.

WHY RAW?

A lot from the audience of course and as usual, asked why "raw", why not cooked? The good Dr site a sample about a raw Kamote (Sweet Yam). If we will plant a raw Kamote, after a day there might be a sprout because of it's composition. While if we plant a cooked kamote, mabubulok lang, No nutrients, nothing will grow. It's one way he explained why "raw."

1/2 Spoon of Rock Salt and 2 pieces of Siling Labuyo will do the work according to Dr. Dy Liaco. In my case, I just swallowed all with the raw egg. Easier.

DIABETICS

Since my family are diabetics and I had it everytime I am pregnant. I will discuss it more for this article. This is what Dr. Dyliaco process and suggestion based on his experiences and can be found also at this article http://www.arthritistrust.org/Articles_miscellaneus_Historical/DiabetesII.pdf

Reversing Type II Diabetes Naturally- Dr. Jaime Dy Liaco

"This protocol works every single time, even curing diabetic gangrene in one week and saving legs from getting amputated. Look at the bottom half of the last page which lists what to do in case of diabetic gangrene. If the patient has been taking the diabetic drugs for less than 6 months, they can be stopped abruptly without harm, so long as she starts immediately with the natural remedies. But if she has been taking them for more than 6 months, she cannot stop them abruptly.
Instead overlap them with the natural remedies, and monitor her fasting blood sugar every week or at least every 10 days with laboratory blood tests. After the fasting blood sugar has stabilized within the normal range for 3 months, phase out the drugs gradually. The 6 food supplements listed are readily available in health food stores, the green leafy vegetables in supermarkets and produce stores. If she lives in the U.S., she probably will not be able to find raw pork pancreas, but try China town. The raw pork pancreas are very rich in natural insulin. It brings down blood sugar from 500 to 84 in 5 minutes with just 2 tablespoons. It doesn't have the side
effects of synthetic insulin injections."

"The protocol does not yet mention the use of red siling labuyo (red cayenne peppers) which I will add to the protocol after having seen how well it works. If it's the big red ones (about 1.5-2" long) which is what is available in Metro Manila, take 9 silis 3x a day. If it's the small ones (less than 1" long) which is what is abundant in the provinces, take 12 silis 3x a day. Be sure there is food in the stomach, because sili gives a stomach ache if taken on an empty stomach. I always gives the sili together with 1/2 teaspoon of rock (sea) salt, 2 bananas, 3 glasses of water, and if available 3 tablespoons of dark chocolate ice cream. The ice cream helps to digest the food just
taken because it makes the stomach acidic within 5 minutes of eating it. I have found dark chocolate ice cream does not raise blood sugar, especially if it's taken together with the red silis."

Diabetes is due to a deficiency of 5 minerals and to habits that load the body with too much simple sugars, wearing down the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas and weakening the potency of the insulin they produce. So to reverse Type II or adult-onset diabetes naturally, correct the mineral deficiency with 5 food supplements, regenerate the beta cells in the pancreas producing insulin with a 6th supplement, correct eating habits, and do regular exercise.

CORRECTING EATING HABITS

1. Fresh vegetables. Eat 3x a day 1 cup of raw saluyot leaves, or camote leaf tops (talbos ng kamote) either dark green or purple in color, or kangkong (swamp cabbage), or spinach leaves, or sea grapes  and to eating(lato) as a salad to start every meal. These raw dark green vegetables are rich in vanadium, copper, zinc, manganese, chromium and will lower your blood sugar. You may blanch these vegetables, or juice them, but do not cook them. Anything cooked beyond 40 degrees centigrade loses all enzymes, vitamins, and the organic minerals become inorganic which the body cannot absorb.

2. Garlic. Eat 3 large cloves of crushed raw garlic with every meal. It has to be crushed or chewed thoroughly to release the active ingredients, allicin and alliin. Besides being anti-viral and anti-bacterial, garlic lowers blood sugar levels. If you cannot take raw garlic, take garlic pills: either 1 pill of Garlinase 4000 (from Healthy Options), or 2 tablets of Kyolic Garlic (from GNC, get the one that’s all garlic, no mixtures) after every meal.

3. Water. Take 15 8-oz glasses of non-chlorinated, mineral water every day to keep your body's water level at the 75% that the body needs to metabolize properly. If you let it drop below 75%, you are dehydrated. All your vital organs, your cells, your tissues, your blood (75% water), your brain (85% water) will be dehydrated. Your immune system drops when your water level drops below 75%, and you become vulnerable to infections. No medication that you take will work if your body is dehydrated.
One simple way to check if your water level is at 75% is to look at the color of your urine every time you urinate. If it is yellow, you are dehydrated. Drink a glass of water right away. Your objective must be to make the color of your urine as clear as water. To be free of dehydration, you need salt. Without salt the body cannot retain water and you will still be dehydrated even with the 15 glasses of water a day, because water is a natural diuretic. So take 2½ teaspoons of salt a day. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of salt on each meal, eat 1/2 teaspoon with your merienda with a glass of water, and eat 1/2 at bedtime with a glass of water which will help keep you from urinating frequently during the night. Use natural salt from the sea (rock salt), not refined table salt which is synthetic. If you cannot avoid using tap water, which is chlorinated, let
the water sit for half an hour, without a cover, to evaporate the chlorine. Do not take distilled water. It strips the body of minerals, and aggravates your diabetes. Take mineral water.

4. Foods and drinks to avoid. All processed foods (canned goods, foods made with white refined flour such as pan de sal, white bread, noodles, etc., white refined sugar, confectionery, margarine, any food that comes in a box or package made by a manufacturer and sold in stores, junk food), dairy products (milk, cheese except cottage cheese), red meats, soft drinks, coffee, alcoholic drinks. For frying, use only extra virgin, cold-pressed olive oil or coconut oil. All other oils are not heart-healthy (the polyunsaturated oils) and some, like Canola and soybean oil, are even conducive to cancer. Fresh fruits in moderation are OK, they are complex sugars. Fish, chicken, and turkey without the skin are OK. Proteins from plants, like beans, are incomplete and not usable by the body. To make them complete, eat them with grains, like brown rice. It's delicious mixed with sticky red rice (red malagkit). Mix 1 cup brown with 1 tablespoon red. Avoid white rice. It’s a simple sugar.

5. Sweeteners. Use raw honey, or muscovado sugar. To sweeten cereal, use fruits like sliced raw bananas. Do not use synthetic sweeteners like aspertame (Equal or NutraSweet). They aggravate diabetes and can cause brain tumors. Avoid diet softdrinks with NutraSweet. NutraSweet is converted in the body into formaldehyde (it's embalming you while you are still alive). A natural sweetener that’s acceptable is Stevia. If health food stores don’t have it, order it from the U.S.

6. Flax seed. Eat ¼ cup of ground raw flax seed daily. Sprinkle it on food or mix it with fruit juice or water. Raw flax seed is available at Healthy Options, either ground or as whole seeds. Do not buy the ground seed. It oxidizes once the package is opened. Get the whole seeds. Grind 1/4 cup in a small electric coffee grinder
for 10 seconds, only when you are about to eat it, because it oxidizes in 15 minutes after grinding. You can eat kesong puti with it. The two make a healthy combination.

FIRST AID FOR VERY HIGH BLOOD SUGAR

Eat 2 tablespoons of raw pork pancreas. It is very rich in natural insulin, and has brought down in 2 minutes blood sugar from as high as 240-502 down to 84-85. Have the pancreas on standby in your freezer, for use in emergency situations, or eat it daily if you wish. Eaten with every meal keeps blood sugar normal every day, like having insulin shots. Always eat it with a clove of crushed raw garlic, to kill bacteria and viruses. Because raw pork pancreas are also very rich in the animalprotein digesting enzymes that digest cancer cells, 2 tablespoons with every meal will also prevent cancer. Here's how to prepare: buy the pancreas early in the morning
from the market, to be sure it is freshly slaughtered. Do not buy more than a week's supply. Wash it well of soil and dirt. Soak for 10
minutes in a basin of water with half a cup of rock salt. After soaking, rub well on both sides with rock salt until the sliminess is gone. Cut into small cubes so you can measure it by the tablespoonful. Put 2 tablespoons each into a small plastic bag. Put the bags in the freezer, and take as needed. You can season it any way you want to make it palatable, so long as you don't cook it or use vetsin (MSG). Some use wasabi and toyo. Others eat it with chopped onions, ginger, green sili, garlic, salt, kalansi. Others like it as is from the freezer. It has a nice, cool clean taste and melts in the mouth. Please note, the raw pancreas are not a permanent cure, just
like insulin shots are not. To cure diabetes permanently, you need to correct the mineral deficiencies and regenerate the beta cells in your own pancreas that produce your own insulin, but this time with the mineral deficiencies corrected, your own insulin production will now be potent. So you can use the raw pancreas to keep your blood sugar down while you are correcting your mineral deficiencies and regenerating your pancreatic cells.

Alternative medicine is any practice that is put forward as having the healing effects of medicine but is not based on evidence gathered using the scientific method. It may consist of a wide range of health care practices, products and therapies, using alternative medical diagnoses and treatments which are not typically included in the degree courses of established medical schools or used in conventional medicine. Examples of alternative medicine include homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, and acupuncture. Usually, this kind of medicine is the last resort to Human Beings. We tried to seek long life and to prevent deseases but still failed us. According to Dr. Dy  Liaco, whenever somebody asked his help, it's te last resort and no doubt about his method, anyway, they did all and nothing from the conventional medicines helped their deseases. The raw eggs, rock salt, raw pancreasas and raw liver might be not our usual snacks, maybe if it's cooked yes, but if it will be the one that can cure diabetes, astma, hypertension..why not try it. Anong  mawawala? Enjoy!

Winning a Kanga Cup

Happy as Champions with the Philippine Flag

"Filipinos are not born lucky and born with height . Our Filipino genes doesn't have the height that most of the sports would require / basketball definitely needs height and also is football - we Filipinos are in the wrong sport / in football we have the chance to muscle up our opponents with speed and skills - Messi is not that tall and build is like a Filipino but with the right development  in grassroots and in youth development we can produce a strong senior team qualified for World Cup . With the support of the President Aquino we will achieve this in Less than 10 years time ." Carranza said.

Teen Azkals Team Manager Alvin Carranza and the rest of the officers with me during the Teen Azkals patrons Night at OneA Events Center and Sports Bar at Antipolo

According to Carranza, Teen Azakals also needs the support in terms of sponsorship. Sending U23 to Sea Games is a start and we cannot do this overnight since Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) allocation budget to Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is  small compared to other Asian countries. PFF under President Nonong Araneta will have to allocate the budget from the grassroots to the youth and to the senior teams plus of course the day to day operation expenses and dog running a local football association and local associations. Kids under Teen Azkals are very smart and skilled. Winning at Kanga Cup is a start for these athletes and support is what they need to continue to win. Competitions are not free and we Filipinos need to join the competitions and to have exposure to the international tournaments to give pride to the Philippines.

Oriang by Cafe De Bonifacio: A local and revolutionary taste for our heart by Odessa Escaler

Oriang by Cafe De Bonifacio is the new restaurant at Market Market Fiesta at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. A soft spot in our heart with a revolutionary taste to crave for. Less than 8 months old, Oriang captures the heart of Filipinos, it's more like going back to our home in the province with a native or local “ulam” waiting for us cooked by our parents or grandparents. It's like na “Ratatoille” ka with the delicious array of local dishes Oriang is offering.

Enjoying with Pandan Drink and Oriang Okoy

Gregoria de Jesús, also known as Aling Oriang was the founder and vice-president of the women's chapter of the Katipunan of the Philippines. She was also the custodian of the documents and seal of the Katipunan. She married Andrés Bonifacio, the supremo of the Katipunan, and played a major role in the Philippine Revolution. A loving wife after her husband was ambushed became more empowered and proved her leadership as she leads the revolution even as a woman. For those people behind Oriang restaurant who admires the bravery of Andres Bonifacio and his wife, Oriang is just fit for the revolutionary taste of Filipinos with a twist.

Ferdinand “Mok” Olarte, the Operations Director prepared my team with delicious food at Oriang last August 1, 2013. The ambiance and friendly smiles of the people at Oriang not only captured our heart but will make you think ahead for another scheduled meal at this place and this time with our own family and friends.

I am just always craving with our local Okoy and when Oriang served their very own version of Oriang Okoy, I took the spicy vinegar at the table and digged in right away.

Oriang Okoy is a crispy pancake with tiny shrimps. Holding the crunchy shrimps together is a special batter made from sweet potato and squash. A new twist with the usual Okoy.

The rice Oriang served was Tuyo Fried Rice. A more tasteful of course from the usual Plain Rice.

With rice being the center in the Filipino meal, Oriang let us feast on Oriang Tuyo Rice generously with dried “Tuyo” and loads of garlic served with all-time Filipino favorites like Pinakbet with Liempo & Chicharon, Boneless Bistek Bangus and Chicken Inasal with pickled shallots. it was a deletable dinner meeting for my group. We always like our very own dishes.

Palitaw with Ube Halaya was the dessert, two in one while drinking Pandan Iced Tea .
