The gates opened at the Yahoo Celebrity Awards Friday, July 18, 2014, welcoming eager fans who voted for their favorite stars for six weeks.

Male and Female TV Hosts winners Vhong Navarro and Kris Aquino were fashionably late and yet still awed the audience with their oozing charisma, Kris Aquino, gorgeous in black, personally thanked her fans for all the votes, some 258,076 online and Kakao Talk votes she garnered.

FM Radio Station of the Year is 90.7 Love Radio. The radio station got 196k votes.

News Program of the Year - “TV Patrol” remains undisputed in the News of the Year category. They got 173,925 votes this year.

The best and interesting to all categories is the Celebrity Family - The Padilla family is the first to win this new category. About 238,905 favored them. The Padilla Family surprised the fans for the attendance of Rommel Padilla, Robin Padilla, Mariel Padilla & The former Rustum Padilla now BB Gandanghari.

Female Emerging Star - Julia Barretto won this year’s Female Emerging Star with 204,708 votes.

Male Kontrabida- Jake Cuenca is the first recipient of the Male Kontrabida trophy. He’s a runaway winner with 137,068 votes. Jake handsomely answered all questions from the media after he received the trophy and telling everyone that he is just doing what he loves doing which is acting.

The very sexy and head turner for that night, Female Kontrabida - Jennylyn Mercado is Yahoo Celebrity Awards’ first Female Kontrabida. She won with 399,369 votes.

Love Team of the Year - The onscreen team-up of Vice Ganda and Karylle emerged Love Team of the Year. Their fans pulled in 391,300 votes to ensure their victory.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim’s love team is currently the most awarded with two wins (2012 and 2013).

Fan Club of the Year - KimXi’s fan base reclaims its title as Fan Club of the Year with 578,015 votes. KimXi first won in 2012.

Teleserye of the Year - “Ikaw Lamang” got the most number of votes—704,038—in the Teleserye of the Year category. “Ina Kapatid Anak” won last year when the category was first introduced. Interestingly, both series star Kim Chiu.
News Program of the Year - “TV Patrol” remains undisputed in the News of the Year category. They got 173,925 votes this year.

Movie of the Year - Star Cinema's “Bride for Rent” won Movie of the Year with 630,061 votes. The rom-com blockbuster stars Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

Emerging Band - Yolanda Moon is the first winner in the Emerging Band category. They were voted 67,183 times.

Song of the Year - Julie Anne’s San Jose’s “Bakit Ngayon” was hailed Song of the Year with 280,784 votes.

FM Radio Station of the Year - 90.7 Love Radio is Yahoo Celebrity Awards’ FM Radio Station of the Year. Love Radio’s 196,407 votes ended Brgy. LS FM’s two-year dominance (2012 and 2013) in the category.

Male DJ - Papa Jack remains undisputed in the Male DJ category—winning for 3 consecutive years now. He got 183,822 votes this year.
Female DJ - MOR 101.9’s DJ Chacha ended Nicole Hyala’s two-year dominance with 314,809 votes.

Band of the Year - Parokya ni Edgar’s 143,105 votes did the trick again this year. Chito Miranda’s band is a three-time winner in the said category (2011, 2012 and 2014) and fresh from his brouhaha from his YouTube popularity, answered all questions from the media about the love of his life and how pressured he was for the successful proposal he did, he jokingly answered the press about the questions about this.
