Are you Happy at work? Learn from The 5th Happy at Work Conference on July 28, 2015 at SMX Aura, Taguig, Philippines

According to Statistics, employees are more engaged if they are happy at work and that's why more organizations are focusing on how the different department in the company can be more relaxing, satisfying and suitable to everyone whether it's about the salary, benefits or facility especially right now that millennials is playing a big part in the organization and will be the powerful source of manpower and can command because of the demand.

A 2013 Gallup study, which reported data from more than 180 million people, found that just 13% of us consider ourselves to be “happily engaged at work.” Those who do rate themselves as happy are 36% more motivated, six times more energized, and twice as productive as their unhappy counterparts.
The good news is that just 50% of happiness is influenced by genetics while the rest is up to you. Meaning, we can choose whether to be happy at work or not anyway, happiness depends on the person, it's a state of mind. You have a choice to be happy and well, it depends on the mindset of the individual.
When it comes to making yourself happy, you need to learn what works for you. Once you discover this, everything else tends to fall into place. And making yourself happy doesn’t just improve your performance; it’s also good for your health which is actually everyone's goal, to stay healthy especially in the Philippines where negative news from politics or traffic is actually, we don't have any control.

From the forum attended by a Filipino renowned economist, some of the Sunrise industries for 2016 are as follows; Health, Education, Telecommunication and Business Process Outsourcing which came to a question, Are some industries destined to have a happy workforce, while others will be left with sullen workers who are unhappy with their career prospects? One possible answer to the question comes from research conducted by TINYpulse, whose 2015 Best Industry Ranking Report reveals some interesting insights into the happiest (and unhappiest) industries around which now, can give us a chance to think what industry is right now just for our career but for our health.
The TINYpulse report surveyed more than 30,000 employees from more than 500 companies on their overall job satisfaction, coming up with the top 5 industries to work with;
1. Construction and Facilities Services
2. Consumer Products and Services
3. Technology and Software
4. Telecom, Energy and Utilities
5. Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and Biotech

For the companies in the Philippines, to understand more about their employees and for the employees to understand more about their existing careers and the industries fit to your skills, Salt & Light Ventures once again will have “The 5th Happy at Work Conference”, happening from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on July 28, 2015 at SMX Convention Center Aura, focuses on building an organizational culture that lasts — and it is one that is founded on character!

The conference will feature Dr. Ron Jenson in a session entitled “Laying the Foundation: Why Character Counts in Culture Building.” Dr. Jenson is the co-founder and chairman of Future Achievement International, the first character-based human capital solutions provider, and is known worldwide as America’s Life Coach and author of the bestselling book Achieving Authentic Success® and Make a Life, Not Just a Living.

Meanwhile, Janet Webster, chairman of Investors in People (UK) Philippines, an organization that helps companies focus their people management strategies on their business priorities, and an accredited Thinking Environment facilitator and Time to Think coach, will share with the audience the different factors that need to be considered in “Designing A High-Performing Organization.”

Leaders, decision-makers, and culture changers committed to championing organizational culture will discover the following when they join the conference: the challenges of creating a high-performing organization; a proven framework that can help organizations outperform competition; where an organization stands in comparison to global people management standards and strategies; expert advice on aligning people development plans to business strategies; how a personal leadership model can help create self-governing and high-performing people; and the benefits of having character as an organization’s foundation in building a winning culture.
