Teamwork makes the dream work' PRRC and TESDA to team up for a vision for ISF's

The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), has been resettling informal settler families (ISFs) living along the banks of the Pasig River and its tributaries considered danger zones to safe, decent, and socialized housing units provided by the PRRC, National Housing Authority (NHA) and concerned local government units (LGUs).

Since its creation in 1999 to present, the commission was able to resettle a total of 17,561 ISFs in resettlement sites established and/or managed by PRRC, NHA, and the City Government of Mandaluyong.

The beneficiaries of the resettlement program were provided with livelihood developments that were meant to hone the skills of the relocatees so they could use these for their own economic development. The skills they would have honed through the trainings should have helped them generate income.

Job referrals and placement were vital components of the commission's action plan as it ensured that the relocated households were not economically displaced.

As of end of December 2008, a total of 2,516 families have participated in skills training provided by PRRC. The training included building wiring, welding, dressmaking, bakeshop operations, food processing, horticulture and others.

Inasmuch as numerous training programs had already been implemented, it seems that only a few had benefitted from these in terms of improving the economic status of the relocated families. Even with the skills the beneficiaries have learned from the trainings and seminars, some have reported of having difficulties securing start-up capital to put up businesses. Moreover, the beneficiaries needed skills training that would be able to help them realize sufficient income to address their daily needs.

Last October 5, 2017, the PRRC, led by Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia, had exploratory talks with TESDA's Director-General Hon. Guiling "Gene" A. Mamondiong and Deputy Director-General Rebecca Calzado to address the issues on post-resettlement economic conditions of the resettled families due to unemployment and lack of entrepreneurial opportunities in the relocation sites.

Through the collaboration with TESDA, PRRC will embark on a project titled Pagsasanay Panghanapbuhay Tungo sa Riwasang Danay [Training for Work for Progressive Suburbs] Project to provide the families an access to adequate and appropriate technical education and skills development trainings and seminars.

Executive Director Goitia excitedly said that "PRRD Project aims to empower and build the capacity of the ISF's to improve their lives through technical-vocational training" He also added that this, "[PRRD Project] is also to provide the unskilled, low-skilled, out-of-school youth, and women members of the ISFs with skills that would qualify them for entry-level wage employment, and that they could use to pursue self-employment in the services sector, or even in home-based, income-earning entrepreneurship activities."

Both PRRC and TESDA recognize the urgent need to reduce poverty in the rural areas where most government-established and -managed resettlement sites are situated the project. The team up of PRRC with TESDA would intend to evaluate the skills training needs of the ISFs, recommend the training courses and methodologies as appropriate and providing the training through TESDA's accredited training institutions.

Executive Director Goitia remarkably said that the collaboration of PRRC with TESDA is indeed a start of something new for all of us. He also added, "There is a Chinese proverb that goes, 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime', I am envisioning a life full of hope and dreams for these families, hence, the project".

For Tree Top Adventure (Baguio and Subic) all rides -all in is only Php 500 per pax at Travel Mart Fair. That's more than 50% discount. Awesome!

As what they say, travel makes us richer from our current situation which I believe. Some of us plan the vacation and saves money just to travel. Well, life is short, travel. This year gave us so much option too, lots of promo and lot's of Piso fares. So what are you waiting for?

Tree Top Adventure features six activities: two slow pacedand four fast paced activities. One slow paced activity is the Trekking adventure in which you’ll be toured within the area. The tourguide will be introducing local plants and trees and share interesting facts about them.  If one wants to see the forest and appreciate nature from the top of the trees, they could try the Canopy ride. The entire ride has a hanging bridge and five stations which can carry three persons at a time in which you’ll be transferring from one tree to another.

For heart pounding activities, one might want to try the Superman Ride, a horizontal motorized zipline in which you’ll be soaring back and forth in less than a minute. Another activity you could try is the parachute fall in which you’ll be going upwards, slowly, and when you’re 75 feet above the ground, you’ll suddenly fall.

If you literally want to surf in the air, you could try the Silver Surfer, an inclined zipline that swings you back and forth between two trees. If you want to experience the extreme, we recommend you the Tree Drop in which you’ll be suspended 60 feet above the ground, mission impossible style and you’ll be dropped in a matter of seconds only.

The Secret Is Law Of Attraction

I am just grateful and thankful to my father, Josefino Velasco Bondad for sharing to me on how to practice "Law Of attraction." It is believed that whatever your mind can conceive, you will receive. Imagine the possibilities? Limitless.

According to the law of attraction website. "Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action."

This is why the universe is such an infinitely beautiful place. The Law of Attraction (#LOA) dictates that whatever can be imagined and held in the mind’s eye is achievable if you take action on a plan to get to where you want to be. Whatever you feel now, is what you are going to attract.
I am practicing #LOA for more than 3 years now and I am the proof of it's existence. A lot of blessings I received but don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that I do not have problems. We are human beings not a tree. The practice just telling us not to focus on the problems but to shift the mindset about the opportunity it might bring. we are alive and as long as we are, we always have challenges. #LOA is also pushes us to be grateful and thankful as always that if you are, the universe will give us more to be thankful and grateful for.

It is like you have a Genie, whatever you wish will come true. So we need to focus on the goodness, positive mindset and all our attention to things we like to accomplish since according to #LOA without doubt, you will receive it in time. Maybe not at this instant but eventually.  If you are thinking negative, on the other hand, that's what you'll receive. So better to learn how to shift too to positive thinking all the time, yes, you are a human being, sometimes we cant help and not intentionally to think negative thoughts but with #LOA shifting is better and can easily be done if you keep on doing it. It must be automatic.

It means also that you need to be mindful and to be a conscious thinker. the idea here is that you create your own reality. So start to practice it now, just like me, so many opportunities here, I am so overwhelmed.

I am actually the most positive and confident person you will ever meet and that is because of #LOA it helps me a lot to always be thankful and grateful and yes, I am receiving more.

How to monetize your blog?

I am thankful and grateful for this year as the universe gave me more than I expected. For this year also, the Philippine Blogging Summit is on it's 13th year and again, I am one of the speakers on September 2, 2017 at Malcolm Theater, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. My topic for this year will be " Monitizing Your Blog." This actually made me realize how time flies.

When I first graced at 7th Philippine Blogging Summit 6 years ago, my talk was about " Advocacy in Blogging." I discussed on how I am using my blogs to promote my advocacy which during that time was all about Reproductive Health and Environment. Time flies, from that moment, everything changes. I met influencers and eventually became my friends and mentors until now.

When you are blogging for advocacy, you don't expect monetary compensation. I spent more. For those years, I established connections, met leaders, studied the landscape of social media and digital marketing in the Philippines and now, earning 7 digits yearly because of blogging. I realized that success does not happen overnight, you need the following to succeed in blogosphere;

1. Credibility
2. Association
3. Consistency
4. Expertise
5. Determination

Will explain more the strategies on my talk from 2PM-3:30PM on Septemeber 2, 2017. See Yeah all. Please register.

What Matters Most

We all are looking for success, wealth, accolades and attention but always at the end, there is only one thing that we need to focus on even since from the start of time. Family. We strive hard to earn for a living. In our productive years, say from 21 years old to 55 years of age, that's 3 decades  of proving our worth and grabbing all opportunities life sent to us.

When you received already that momentous success in life, even the idols of this generation talked about the only most important people in their lives and activity. Spending time with family.

Steve Jobs: “I wanted my kids to know me,” Mr Isaacson recalled Mr Jobs saying, in a posthumous tribute the biographer wrote for Time magazine. “I wasn’t always there for them, and I wanted them to know why and to understand what I did.”

Alibaba Founder- Jack Ma (Photo: Linkedin)

Jack Ma:  "I regret that I work so hard and spend so little time with my family. If I have another life, I would never do things like this. And my wife said: “You do not belong to me. You belong to Alibaba.” But, in all, Life is so short. It’s all about experience. People seek different views. Some people think you’re rich, you’re successful. But you’re not! Some people say this guy does not have money and he’s a terrible guy. Maybe not! So everybody choose his or her own life. We have a lot of problems that people never thought of. Because running a company for 34,000 young people, operating a company for more than 500 million people. If 1% of the 500 million people are bad guys, you got 5 million bad guys. So it’s a headache. But it’s too late to regret. Forget about regret. Think about I have another 10-20 years to go. So enjoy the show, enjoy the ride. You’re the same."

Barrack Obama: " When Malia and Sasha were younger, work kept me away from home more than it should have, at times, the burden of raising our two daughters has fallen too heeavily on Michelle. during the campaign, not a day went by that I did.nt wish I could spend more time with the family I love more than anything else in the world."

When you are with your sick family members, you will realized more how important these people are with you. You wish to spend more time with your family members more than spending time at work. You realized how good they were when you were still growing up, they took care of you and loving you unconditionally with all their might. It's not too late yet, you are reading this article, try to spend time more with your family. No wealth in this world can replace family.

Ignition Venture Studio: The Perfect Space For Entrepreneurs

When the super Tanya Llana (The Marketing Guru of Victoria Court) sent an email invite without anything but a big red dot as image and with the word "Ignition" on top of the invitation, I know right away that it is a revolutionary facility that will help freelancers, young entrepreneurs and StartUp innovators. The name itself, gave it all away. Ignition. It's a common term right now if you are in different groups of young innovators which lucky enough that 1/4 of my network belongs to that category.

Ignition Venture Studio has more, according to Paolo Villonco, the CEO and well, one of the most eligible bachelor for 2017 ( It's really important to know to understand such aggressive venture, yeah, the search engine is just in my little fingertips and just so happened that he can be the Brand Ambassador of the company since his aura is uber pleasing to the eyes according to some blogger friends who attended the event. Okey, let's go back to the main point, the Ignition Venture Studio not the CEO.) According to Paolo, it's one stop shop. Yes, you heard it right with the services that only them can provide such as the following;

Assistance in accomplishing the Business Registration, Government Compliance, Corporate Housekeeping, Immigartion, Real Estate Transactions, Intellectual Property, Accounting/ Book Keeping and Tax Filing, Human Resource anagement and Tax Planning and this because the Co- Founders are lawyers and entrepreneurs who are experts in these services.

I love the ambiance actually with the Modern Asian Architecture design. The earth colors, wood tables and Trellis like ceiling gave me that feeling that you're just at home relaxing. When Atticus King, one of the Co- Founders approached us also with the ready and very welcoming smile, I am ready for that next interview. He mentioned that aside from the facility and the services that they can offer, his background as a successful serial entrepreneur can help also the soon to be members of Ignition. For those who are still confuse and needs guidance, they are there ready to help everyone. Guys, don't forget that Atticus is the son of Archie King, the man behind the successful Victoria Court- The biggest drive in hotel in the country. So, he got that charm and expertise from his Dad thus he is there to inspire also the members to succeed in spite of any hurdles and challenges. The facility is designed according to Atticus to show confidence, success and high level of competence thus their objective is to reflect it to it's members.

Oh here comes, Margo Flores who is the only gal among the founders. She sat beside me and introduced herself. She is an expert in financial planning and equities with experience in office development, management, leasing and rehabilitation thus she is perfect as one of the igniters among the pack.

Well, actually, I am so familiar with these kind of facilities, for me, I am calling it as Co- working spaces with a lot more to give- Peace of mind.

Profiling DIBZ- A Mobile App solving your parking problems

I met Leeroy Livy and Donald Saurombe last year pitching their idea to me about this revolutionary mobile app that according to them will solve the parking problem. At first, I need to ask them repeatedly about the implementation since I myself, working in Makati with a car is really a parking challenge everyday. After a year, these two aggressive gentlemen with their determination to succeed, made it.

DIBZ is a mobile app that is bringing convenience to drivers in Metro Manila! With Dibz, drivers can search for and reserve an available parking space and its guaranteed that it's available when you arrive. No more circling the block in search for parking, no more waiting for other cars to vacate a parking, no more scramble for loose change and lost parking tickets! All payments are made cashless.

Dibz also operates an on-demand mobile valet service in selected areas for when you are in a hurry and just don’t have the time to park your own car or when the nearest parking space is far from your destination. With Dibz Valet, you can just pick a drop off point and a valet will be assigned to meet you there to park your ride for you! When you need your vehicle back, you can just request for it on the app and it will be returned to you within 15mins!

Another feature of Dibz is the Private Partners Program that utilizes the concept of the shared economy. We realized that there a thousands of underutilized parking spaces in Metro Manila- an example would be someone living in a condo in Makati but working in BGC, his/ her residential parking space lies empty 8-10 hours per day while other drivers circle around the block nearby in search of an available parking space.  Dibz offers a platform for anyone who owns a private parking space to list it for rent when the owner is not using it- by doing so, the owner can recoup part of his/her monthly parking expenses, while helping to improve the parking experience of other drivers!

How to Download Dibz
Currently Dibz is available on the Android platform and it’s iOS version is being tested out by a closed group of testers. The iOS version is expected to be launched to the public before mid-June! Drivers that are using Android devices can visit Google Playstore and download the app.

How to Pay for Parking Through Dibz?
All payments for your parking through Dibz are cashless! Drivers just have to purchase parking credits through credit/ debit card or through over the counter payments made available through our payments partner, Dragonpay.

What Locations is Dibz Available?

Dibz is currently available in Makati at Dela Rosa Car Park 1 and Valero Car Park 2. More locations will be added soon in Makati, BGC, Ortigas and Quezon City! For more information, visit
